Lake Byllesby Campground Building

Lake Byllesby Regional Park's long-range plan was approved in 2018. This plan recommends the construction of a severe weather shelter within the park. Dakota County intends to construct this building on the eastside of the campground. It will serve as a severe weather shelter for campground users, visitors and staff. It will also provide additional restrooms and showers.

Construction of the new campground building started in September 2026. Construction work is expected to extend through spring 2027.
