Existing account
If you have an existing account with Dakota County Parks, visit our reservation and registration website and login using your username and password.
Create an account
If you do not have an existing account with Dakota County Parks, you will need to create one in the system by following these steps:
- Visit the Create an Account webpage on the Dakota County Parks reservation site.
- Enter all required information, including emergency contact, then click continue.
- Verify your email address by entering the code in the email sent to you.
- Once verified, you will see a confirmation page letting you know that your new account has been created. You will automatically be logged into your account.

Virtual waiting room
To help manage traffic on busy reservation days, we will continue to use the virtual waiting room to ensure user volume does not exceed the registration site’s capacity, providing a smooth and consistent experience for all users.
The virtual waiting room will be in effect for the Lebanon Hills Campground and Lake Byllesby Campground reservation opening days. During these times, anyone on the website will be automatically placed in the virtual waiting room. Customers will be slowly released onto the site to begin the reservation process.
Once activated, anyone who visits the reservation website will automatically be placed in the virtual waiting room. Users are placed in line and will slowly be let into the reservation site to browse and register as normal. If you visit the reservation website prior to the virtual waiting room being activated, you will return to your previous page once let in from the virtual waiting room.
Once you are placed in the waiting room, you will retain your place in line.
Your place in line is specific to the device and browser you are using. As long as you continue to use the same computer or phone that you were using when you entered the waiting room, you will keep your place in line.
Even if your phone goes to sleep, you lose your internet connection or you close the virtual waiting room page — as long as you log back in on the same device using the same browser, you will keep your place in line.
Once it’s your turn to reserve, you will be redirected from the pop-up message to the registration site where you can browse, make selections and complete your transaction.
If you are not viewing your registration browser window when your turn comes up, when you return to that window, you will get a new message alerting you that it is time for you to start registering. You will be asked if you’d like to continue. Click the green box, and you will enter the registration site and will be able to browse and register.
Once let in from the virtual waiting room, you may browse and register at your own pace.
Waiting room numbers are device and internet browser specific. This means each device and/or Internet browser used to access the registration site will receive its own waiting room number and place in line.
Important: Once released from the waiting room, a household can only have one active session at a time. If you log in on a different device, that browser will take over and replace any of that household’s previous active sessions.
The waiting room is managed by the amount of inbound site traffic to ensure the number of new users accessing the site per minute remains within the site’s performance threshold. Multiple users are frequently moved from the waiting room to the site at the same time.
