Swimming

Dakota County offers sandy beaches at two park locations for families to relax, cool off and have fun. Swimming is permitted at designed beach areas during open beach hours​ within the roped buoyed area. No lifeguards are on duty at Dakota County beaches.​

Open lake swimming is not permitted. A special use permit is required for scuba diving.

Wat​er testing

Lake Byllesby Beach and Schulze Lake Beach water is tested weekly for E. coli during the summer season (Memorial Day-Labor Day) — a standard for metro park agencies. Check E. coli test re​sults.  ​
