Hiking

Hiking is a great recreational activity to help you stay physically active year-round. Dakota County offers more than 50 miles of summer and winter hiking trails throughout the park and greenway​ system.

Trail etiquette

Please hike on designated trails only. Hiking is not permitted on equestrian, mountain bike and cross-country ski trails. Follow posted signs throughout the system and take care when crossing groomed ski or mountain bike trails.

Dogs are great hiking companions. Leashes are required in all park and greenway spaces except the Dakota Woods Dog Park. ​
