Lake Marion Greenway, Ritter Farm Park to Holyoke Avenue
The Lake Marion Greenway travels 20 miles through Burnsville, Savage, Credit River Township, Lakeville and Farmington. The greenway will link the Minnesota River and the Minnesota River Greenway to:
- Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve
- Ritter Farm Park
- Lake Marion
- Downtown Lakeville
- South Creek
- Downtown Farmington
It will connect with the North Creek Greenway in Farmington. This project is identified in segments three and four in the 2013 Lake Marion Greenway Master Plan.
Project overview
The project is a partnership between the City of Lakeville and Dakota County. The project includes trail connectivity construction and improvements from Ritter Farm Park to downtown Lakeville.
The project components include:
- Resurface pavement between Kenrick Avenue and Holyoke Avenue
- ADA improvements
- Improved trail crossing of Kenrick Avenue
- New trail construction in Ritter Farm
- New trailhead at Ritter Farm
- Landscaping and tree replacements
- Wayfinding signage

Community engagement
Preliminary design, environmental assessment, survey and engineering work and the public engagement process will begin spring 2022 and extend through summer 2023.
