Goodwin Avenue (County Road 85) Bridge Replacement

County Project 85-23

Dakota County will replace the bridge over the Vermillion River on Goodwin Avenue. The bridge is 1 mile north of 190th Street (County Road 62) in Vermillion Township.

Road closures and detours

Goodwin Avenue (County Road 85) is now closed for the duration of the project.  The detour uses 190^th Street (County Road 62), Northfield Boulevard (County Road 47) and 160^th Street (County Road 46) to get around the bridge closure. See detour map.

For everyone’s safety, please follow the posted detour and avoid driving through or around the closed construction area. Using the designated detour helps protect workers and keeps traffic moving safely. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during construction.

Construction progress

Aug. 21–28

Crews are working on underground foundation piles (columns that support the bridge driving surface) at the north abutment (supports the end of the bridge) and south pier (supports under the bridge). They will install foundation piles at the south abutment.

Temporary supports continue being installed to support the bridge slab (driving surface) during construction.
