Babcock Trail (County Road 73) Trail Improvements

Dakota County and the City of Inver Grove Heights will construct a trail on the east side of Babcock Trail. The trail is between Upper 55th Street and Interstate 494.

The project includes:

• Trail on the east side of Babcock Trail
• Curb and gutter on the east side of Babcock Trail
• New storm sewer
• Accessibility improvements
• Partial repaving of Babcock Trail

Road closures and detours

Babcock Trail and Cenex Drive have reopened in all directions. 

Construction p​rogress

Week of Aug. 31

• Placing topsoil and completing seeding
• Paving final layer on Babcock Trail

Week of Sept. 7

• Restriping of Babcock Trail throughout the project area
• Installing signage throughout the project area
