Yankee Doodle Road (County Road 28) Resurfacing
County Project 28-080
Dakota County is resurfacing Yankee Doodle Road (County Road 28) from Lexington Avenue to Amana Trail in Eagan and Inver Grove Heights.
This segment is part of the 11.5 miles of roadways resurfaced this construction season. Pavement resurfacing involves removing and replacing a layer of asphalt. This is referred to as a “mill and overlay.” The result will be better looking, longer lasting, and smoother roadway.
Road closures and detours
Drivers should expect temporary lane closures, flaggers, and delays throughout the project. Please allow extra time for travel, watch for construction signage and be cautious while driving through the construction area.
Construction progress
Work will tentatively begin early fall 2026.
The contractor will also be working on Argenta Boulevard (County Road 63) from Amana Trail (County Road 28) to north of Amana Trail (County Road 28) during the same time frame. There will be work on trails and crosswalk improvements as well. All work is weather dependent.
