County Road 42 Resurfacing
County Project 42-178
Dakota County is resurfacing County Road 42 from County Road 11 to Redwood Drive in Burnsville and Apple Valley.
This segment is part of the 11.5 miles of roadways resurfaced this construction season. Pavement resurfacing involves removing and replacing a layer of asphalt. This is referred to as a “mill and overlay.” The result will be better looking, longer lasting, and smoother roadway.
Road closures and detours
Drivers should expect temporary lane closures, flaggers, and delays throughout the project. Please allow extra time for travel, watch for construction signage and be cautious while driving through the construction area.
Traffic control is still in place to close the inside lanes (left lanes).
Construction progress
Oct. 9-18
- Paving the trail
- Restoring areas disrupted by construction
- Milling and paving of the roadway is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 21–24
All work is weather dependent.
