Report Public Assistance Fraud

Dakota County looks for and investigates suspected fraud. Some benefits depend on who lives in the home. Benefits may also depend on household income and assets.

If a person gives false information on purpose, or hides facts to get more benefits, the county may take action. This can include criminal charges or other penalties. A person may also lose the right to get benefits in the future.
