Recycling Zone Plus

Dakota and Scott counties are parterning to construct and operate a new household hazardous waste and recycling drop-off facility called Recycling Zone Plus.

The Recycling Zone Plus will provide a convenient and cost-effective drop-off location for residents in both counties.

The Recycling Zone in Eagan will stay open after the Recycling Zone Plus opens.

Project highlights

  • The new site will accept the similar materials as the Recycling Zone.
  • Recycling Zone Plus will also have a Reuse Zone.
  • Construction costs will be covered by state and federal funding,
    Dakota County landfill fees and Scott County funds.

Recycling Zone Plus is possible thanks to our state, federal and city partners who shared our vision.

Recycling Zone Plus funding:

  • State Capital Assistance Program: $8 million
  • Federal funds: $500,000
  • Dakota County landfill fees: $9.7 million
  • Scott County funds: $3.4 million
