Eagan Drive (County Road 42) Trail Improvements

Dakota County and the City of Burnsville are designing a new 10-foot multiuse trail along the north side of County Road 42 (Eagan Drive).  The project is from County Road 5 to Nicollet Avenue.

This project will:

• Replace narrow sidewalks with a wide, shared-use trail
• Improve trail crossings at roadways and driveways
• Provide safer, more accessible connections for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users

This segment serves as a high-priority link to key destinations, including:

• Burnsville Center
• Nicollet Commons
• Minnesota Valley Transit Authority system
• Surrounding residential and commercial neighborhoods

​It will be funded by the Metropolitan Council's Transportation Advisory Board.
