150th Street W. (County Road 42) Resurfacing from Diamond Path to Highway 3
County Project 42-173
Dakota County and the cities of Apple Valley and Rosemount are planning to resurface 1.4 miles of pavement on County Road 42. The project starts at County Road 33 (Diamond Path) and ends at Highway 3 (South Robert Trail).
The road has severe cracking, failing curb, drainage concerns and non-compliant pedestrian facilities. The traffic signal at Diamond Path is also ready for replacement.
The project will remove the top layer of pavement and replace it with a new layer. This project provides an opportunity to include other improvements. This includes pedestrian improvements to current standards, signal replacements and transit improvements.
The improvements will include a new roadway surface, striping and pavement markings. Intersections will have new curb ramps, audible push buttons for crossing and pedestrian countdown timers. The signal systems at Diamond Path will be replaced.
The completed project will improve the ride, mobility and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
