County Road 5 Temporary Sign at Kenyon Avenue
Dakota County and the City of Lakeville are putting up temporary traffic signals at the corner of County Road 5 and Kenyon Avenue.
More cars have been driving through this area lately, causing longer delays and traffic headaches. Plus, an upcoming construction project on the Interstate 35 and County Road 50/5 interchange will add even more cars to the road. The temporary lights will help keep traffic moving safely while all this construction happens.
These lights will stay up until a permanent traffic light is installed during the I-35 project, which should be finished by 2030. Setting up the temporary lights in 2026 will help keep drivers safe and ease traffic during the upcoming work.
Drivers should get ready for temporary lane closures, traffic flaggers and extra delays. Please give yourself extra travel time, pay attention to construction signs, and drive carefully through the work zone.
