Court Diversion Programs

Diversion programs have been a long-standing practice of the Dakota County Attorney's Office. When a case is presented to our office by law enforcement, the case is reviewed to determine whether it qualifies for diversion. Our prosecutors consider circumstances surrounding the offense, criminal history and more.

If the case does not qualify for a diversion program, it will be prosecuted in either adult or juvenile court.
