Aquatic Invasive Species Detector

Join the statewide Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Detector network and learn the principles of aquatic ecology, AIS identification, Minnesota rules and regulations, preventing the spread of AIS, and more. You can become certified as an AIS Detector. ​Dakota County will reimburse the registration fee of $150 for seven participants while funding is available.  

Starry Trek

Starry Trek is a statewide event focused on searching for one of Minnesota's newest aquatic invasive species, starry stonewort (and other invaders). Dakota County hosts the annual event. Watch for details to participate in the next Starry Trek on Aug.​ 8, 2026.
