Maps
The Office of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provides geographically based information to residents, other governmental units and county staff.
It provides:
- Finished maps and raw data to the public
- Mapping, analysis and programming services to county departments
- Assistance to city and township governments
The Office of GIS is located on the third floor of the Western Service Center in Apple Valley. It is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is closed on all federal holidays. Please call ahead at 952-891-7081 for map printing requests.

Public access terminals
Public access computer terminals are available to residents at the Western Service Center for use during regular business hours.

Map printing costs
Sales tax will be added to all map prices. Printing costs are based on estimated cost of time and materials.

- 8 ½ x 11”: $2.90
- 11” x 17”: $5.90
- 17” x 22”: $11
- 22” x 34”: $17.75
- 34” x 44”: $34

GIS service fees
Custom GIS services are charged at a rate of $82.25 per hour in half hour increments.
