H​omework Help

Become a Homework Help Volunteer. Work one-on-one with students in grades K–12, assisting with homework assignments in any subject.

No volunteer opportunities are available at this time.​​

​Teen Advisory Groups​

Lead with other teens in your community to help shape library events and services by joining one of our library Teen Advisory Groups. Use your talents and skills to represent the library, help prepare for special events, and make suggestions for books, events and spaces. Find out more about Teen Advisory Groups.

Summer Discovery V​olunteens

Support Dakota County Library by participating in the Volunteen Program. Teens ages 13–18 are invited to volunteer with the library to assist with library programs and events, encourage participation in the Summer Discovery youth program​ and help keep the library a tidy and welcoming space.​

iLAB Volunteer Mentor

Share specialized skills related to one or more pieces of Maker equipment or software used in the iLAB such as quilting, sound mixing or graphic design.

​Library Experience Support Volunteer

Help with projects and tasks that support the overall mission and success of the library. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, checking accuracy of shelves, cleaning AV material, cleaning picture book bins, dusting, watering plants, shredding paper and preparing supplies for library events.

Community Service Volunteer

This program is only for individuals who need to perform court-ordered community service hours, live in Dakota County and are 12-18 years of age.

If you qualify, you can only volunteer 1.5 hours per session and no more than 3-5 hours per week.

Applications take 3-5 business days to process. Hours can only be completed at any library branch.
