The Dakota County Library Foundation increases public awareness and generates supplemental funding for library programs and services to ensure a strong library system in the future.

How funds are used
Foundation funding enhances, and does not replace, the public funding received by Dakota County Library. Endowment funds are invested, with only a portion of the annual earnings expended each year, so the endowment can remain in perpetuity.
The Foundation recently provided additional funding for the Summer Reading and Learning Program, Teen Poetry, and Winter Reads. The Foundation has also been a long-term supporter of bringing cultural programs to Dakota County residents through their library.
