Borrow materials

​Individuals can borrow up to 99 items at a time. Most items can be checked out for three weeks with some exceptions.​

​There are a few exceptions. They include:

• DVDs: 1 week
  
• High-Demand items: 2 weeks
• Lucky U's: 1 week
  
• Book Group Kits: 6 weeks
• Launchpads: 1 week​​

Borrowing from other library systems

Your Dakota County Library card can be registered at other Minnesota public libraries. Once registered, you can ​borrow from and return items to those systems directly. Minnesota libraries will accept most items for return to their home system. You agree to abide by the rules of the lending library, including the payment of overdue fees.
