School Recycling and Disposal

Every day, Minnesota public schools generate an estimated 500,000 pounds of waste. Nearly 80 percent of that waste is recyclable or compostable. Without a recycling program in place, all recyclables in the trash end up in landfills or incinerators.

A strong recycling program:

  • Makes it easier to manage waste in schools
  • Saves money
  • Demonstrates a committment to sustainability
