Temporary Cannabis Event Permits
Dakota County issues temporary cannabis event permits according to County Ordinance 133 Regulating the Registration and Sale of Cannabis Products.
Only licensed cannabis event coordinators can get a Temporary Cannabis Event Permit.
If 300 or more people are expected at the event, an Assembly License is also required.
Onsite cannabis use is not allowed at temporary cannabis events.
Permitted hours
A temporary cannabis event cannot begin before 9 a.m. or go beyond 9 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays or 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Fees
Fee: $155
Fees can be paid with cash, check payable to Dakota County, or credit card over the phone.
Term: 1-2 days as listed on the application.
How to apply
Print and complete the following forms:
Gather the following application materials:
- Completed license application
- Completed license applicant information form
- Certificate of Insurance for commercial general liability insurance for $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury, death, or property damage naming Dakota County as an additional insured.
