Denmark Avenue (County Road 31) and 220th Street W. (County Road 74) Improvements

County Projects 31-115 and 74-11

Dakota County and the City of Farmington are designing improvements along Denmark Avenue (County Road 31) and 220th Street West (County Road 74). The project includes:

  • Denmark Avenue (County Road 31) from 212th Street W. (County Road 50) to 220th Street W. (County Road 74)
  • 220th Street West (County Road 74) from Denmark Avenue to Honeysuckle Lane
  • 212th Street West (County Road 50) – south side trail connection to the southwest corner of the County Road 31/County Road 50 intersection

Project overview

Denmark Avenue

This project includes the final design for reconstructing Denmark Avenue from 212th Street West to about 650 feet south of 220th Street West. The work involves replacing the bridge over the Vermillion River. The design will also consider options for a future grade‑separated crossing that could support the Lake Marion Greenway and create space for wildlife movement.

220th Street West Trail

This project provides final design for construction of a multi‑use trail along the north side of 220th Street West, from Denmark Avenue to the Honeysuckle Lane. The trail will be designed to ensure safe, accessible and continuous connections with existing and planned pedestrian and bicycle facilities.

212th Street West Trail Gap Closure

This project will design a short trail segment along the south side of 212th Street West to close the existing gap and create a continuous connection to the southwest corner of the Denmark Avenue and 212th Street West intersection.
