Two new members join Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board

The Dakota County Board of Commissioners has appointed two new members to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board. Kami Peterson and Nikhil Sehgal will represent the private sector.
Peterson is senior director of human resources and employee relations at Thomson Reuters in Eagan. With more than 25 years of experience in information technology and content solutions, she has worked in a variety of positions implementing digital and operational processes that enhance the employee experience and business efficiency
“I look forward to using my HR experience, local perspective and commitment to inclusion to support workforce solutions that benefit residents, employers and the overall community,” Peterson said.
Sehgal is president of Cornerstone Copy Center in Burnsville, overseeing general management, marketing, finance and human resources. Sehgal has previous experience at 3M, Ford Motor Co., BOSCH and Boston Consulting Group.
“As a small business owner now, I have developed a great appreciation for the workforce challenges that local employers face every day,” Sehgal said. “I look forward to lending my voice and practical experience to conversations around workforce development while also learning from others who are committed to strengthening our local economy.”
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott counties. It is a state leader in developing innovative programs administered through CareerForce locations in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul.
