Missing man located deceased following extensive search

On Aug. 4, following extensive ground and water search efforts, the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office located Michael William Robinson, 77, deceased downstream of his boat.

“This is not the outcome any of us had hoped for. Our hearts are with Michael’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” said Sheriff Joe Leko.

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, Drone Team, Dakota County Special Operations Team, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Northstar Search and Rescue for their assistance throughout the search.

Preliminary findings indicate that the circumstances surrounding his death are not suspicious. The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time.
